Large Emby/Jellyfin libraries.
EmbyStat requirements at a glance
EmbyStat is a statistics service for Emby/Jellyfin. The current ZimaOS package lists 64 MB minimum memory, but upstream is old/alpha and LinuxServer's EmbyStat image is deprecated, so upgrade expectations should be conservative.
- ZimaOS package memory
- Current official ZimaOS listing: 64 MB minimum memory.
- Upstream RAM minimum
- No numerical whole-host minimum published by the EmbyStat project.
- CPU
- No numerical core minimum; library scans and statistic calculations create the main bursts.
- Current ZimaOS package
- Version 0.2.0 is listed in the current ZimaOS App Store.
- Project maturity
- Upstream describes EmbyStat as alpha, and LinuxServer marks its EmbyStat image as deprecated.
- Best Zima starting point
- ZimaBoard 2 832 is more than sufficient for EmbyStat; the Emby/Jellyfin server itself is usually the much larger workload.
From official requirements to the right setup
Size EmbyStat from the real workload and deployment topology rather than generic server assumptions.
-
Official requirements
Install EmbyStat from the official ZimaOS App Store only if you accept the project's old/alpha status.
-
Confirm your needs
Persist the EmbyStat configuration/database path used by the package so statistics survive container recreation.
-
Leave room to grow
Treat the ZimaOS 64 MB value as package metadata, not an upstream guarantee for large libraries or full scans.
-
Run it on ZimaOS
Size the Emby or Jellyfin media server separately; transcoding and media storage do not belong to EmbyStat's own hardware requirement.

- 64 MB package memory
- Emby/Jellyfin server URL
- Library size
- Scan frequency
- Persistent config
- Project age
- Backup retention

Official minimum requirements
EmbyStat upstream does not publish a numerical host-hardware minimum; the ZimaOS package provides minimum-memory metadata.
The current package is lightweight, but its aging/alpha project status is more important than hardware. Do not infer current performance guarantees from old container examples.
| Requirement | Official minimum | What this supports |
|---|---|---|
| Upstream host RAM minimum | No numerical minimum published | Project does not provide a current hardware table. |
| ZimaOS package minimum memory | 64 MB | Current App Store metadata. |
| ZimaOS package version | 0.2.0 | Current public listing. |
| Project status | Alpha / aging upstream | Upstream README describes an alpha-stage project. |
| LinuxServer image | Deprecated | Current LinuxServer documentation marks EmbyStat image deprecated. |
| GPU | Not required | Statistics service only. |
When to upgrade your hardware
Scale EmbyStat when these workload signals appear.
Very large libraries make scans slower
Frequent refresh jobs overlap
The media server itself needs more resources
Aggressive scan schedules can create repeated bursts.
Users refreshing statistics often.Transcoding and media indexing belong to Emby/Jellyfin, not EmbyStat.
Media-server deployments.Plan hardware growth with confidence
Scale EmbyStat only where the workload justifies additional resources.
Keep EmbyStat on ZimaBoard 2 832
The statistics service is lightweight.
ZimaBoard 2 832.Prioritize durable config storage
Protect the app's local state rather than adding compute.
Any Zima app-data storage.Upgrade hardware for Emby/Jellyfin, not EmbyStat
Media transcoding/storage will dominate the combined system workload.
Use the separate media-server sizing guide.Consider project lifecycle before scaling
An aging/deprecated upstream ecosystem may matter more than CPU upgrades.
Operational decision rather than a hardware requirement. Can it run on ZimaOS?
EmbyStat deployment on ZimaOS should follow the verified route below.
Install EmbyStat from the ZimaOS App Store
Install the current ZimaOS package, persist configuration and be aware that the upstream project/image ecosystem is aging.
Install EmbyStat from the ZimaOS App Store ↗Review EmbyStat upstream deployment
Use upstream documentation to understand ports, persistence and feature-specific requirements.
Review EmbyStat upstream repository ↗Keep persistent data outside disposable containers
Map configuration, database or uploaded-file paths to durable ZimaOS storage where the app uses persistent state.
Review ZimaOS download and app platform ↗Choose Zima hardware for EmbyStat
EmbyStat itself is very light; the main caveat is project maintenance status, not hardware.
Which EmbyStat workload are you running?
Use ZimaBoard 2 832; it is far above the app's likely needs.
- Best starting pointZimaBoard 2 832
Size the larger system for Emby/Jellyfin, storage and transcoding.
- Broader media platformZimaCube 2 Pro
The ZimaOS 64 MB figure is package metadata, and the upstream project does not provide a modern hardware benchmark.
| Zima hardware | Best for | Example workload | Core configuration | Recommended boundary | Next step |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ZimaBoard 2 832 | Normal EmbyStat use. | Media statistics and configuration storage. |

Zima Blade Little yet Powerful
Maybe I am not digital natives but I live with PCs since 12 years old in 1984 when IBM PC clone come to my home. Many years have passed and many operating system I've tried. For me Zima blade and CasaOS was a quantum leap for home PC enthusiast and server lab machine to make me stay curious and relevant for this era.
Very good!!
I use ZimaCube Pro as 5th Proxmox cluster node. It runs several VMs and containers, including a VM with GPU passthrough to run a self-hosted LLM. A specific LXC container runs a Samba server for NAS capabilities using four of six RAID 6 SATA HDDs with ZFS.
Great innovation for mini server!
It is very useful and makes a powerful mini server for many purposes, including university and college students in engineering and electronics. Thank you so much for making this server.
