Community Edition Exposed the License Entry Control
In the October 2025 thread, an IceWhale team reply explained that a ZimaOS installation still running Community Edition should show a Get Plus button in Settings. The intended path was to open that control, choose I have a code, and enter the activation code. The reply also said the code remains permanently valid once activated.
An Automatically Granted Plus System Did Not Show Get Plus
The original poster had upgraded from an earlier ZimaOS release and already saw a Plus state, so the button shown in the example was absent. A team member explained that users who upgraded from 1.4.x or earlier to 1.5.0 automatically received Plus benefits. On that path, there was nothing further to activate on the same device.
For the separately purchased lifetime code, the team offered two choices: keep it for another device or request a refund by emailing shop@icewhale.org. The poster chose to keep the purchase as support for the project.
Showing Plus Did Not Always Mean Every Limit Was Removed
Several other participants reported a different symptom: the interface displayed Plus, but a fourth user or fifth drive could still be blocked. One fresh-install user also reported that the Get Plus control redirected to the website instead of presenting code entry. These reports should not be conflated with the original poster's automatically granted Plus state.
The thread did not produce one verified fix for every status mismatch. A participant said a system reset changed their machine back to Community Edition and restored the purchase route, but that reset removed settings and container apps. This was a user-reported workaround, not an official general recommendation. The team instead invited affected users to open a dedicated problem report with screenshots and recordings.
