Dolibarr requirements at a glance
Dolibarr publishes concrete PHP, CPU and storage guidance: PHP memory_limit should allow 128 MB, program files use about 150 MB, database files about 35 MB initially, and 1 GHz+ CPU is recommended above about 30 users.
- PHP memory
- Official prerequisite: PHP memory_limit should allow 128 MB.
- CPU
- Low-spec CPUs work; 1 GHz or faster is recommended above roughly 30 users.
- Program storage
- About 150 MB for program files, plus modules/templates.
- Database storage
- About 35 MB initially; database growth is roughly under 1 MB per 100 customers/suppliers/invoices, excluding attachments.
- Database
- Current prerequisites include MariaDB 10.3+ and PostgreSQL 9.1+; MySQL is also supported.
- Best Zima starting point
- ZimaBoard 2 832 is already ample for a small deployment.
From official requirements to the right setup
Size Dolibarr from its real service stack and persistent data rather than using a guessed one-size-fits-all server number.
-
Official requirements
Use the upstream PHP/database requirements as the baseline rather than treating 128 MB PHP memory_limit as whole-server RAM.
-
Confirm your needs
Estimate users, modules and reporting; upstream raises CPU guidance around the >30-user range.
-
Leave room to grow
Plan document and attachment storage separately because PDFs/ODTs/uploads can dominate disk growth.
-
Run it on ZimaOS
On ZimaOS, use Install Custom App with Dolibarr's official Docker image plus a supported database and persistent document storage.

Official minimum requirements
Dolibarr's official prerequisite wiki provides concrete PHP, disk and CPU guidance rather than one all-in-one server specification.
Do not translate PHP's 128 MB memory_limit into a whole-server RAM requirement.
| Requirement | Official minimum | What this supports |
|---|---|---|
| PHP memory_limit | 128 MB allowed | Current prerequisite. |
| CPU | 1 GHz+ recommended above ~30 users | Official wiki guidance. |
| Program files | About 150 MB | Extra modules/templates add space. |
| Database files | About 35 MB initially | Database system/temp space is additional. |
| Database growth | <1 MB per 100 customers/suppliers/invoices | Attachments are separate. |
| MariaDB / PostgreSQL | MariaDB 10.3+ / PostgreSQL 9.1+ | Current prerequisite page. |
When to upgrade your hardware
Upgrade Dolibarr when measured workload, storage growth or background processing outgrows the current host.
More than a few dozen active users
Heavy modules and reports
Documents dominate disk
Accounting, inventory and reports increase PHP/database load.
Feature-rich installations.PDFs, ODTs and uploads can grow faster than the SQL database.
Document-heavy businesses.Plan hardware growth with confidence
Scale Dolibarr by addressing the actual bottleneck—database, storage, processing or concurrency—before simply buying a larger server.
Use SSD-backed database storage
Improves SQL responsiveness.
SATA/NVMe on ZimaBoard 2 or SSD tiers on ZimaCube 2.Move to 16 GB for a broader business stack
More RAM helps database cache and additional apps.
ZimaBoard 2 1664.Use multi-drive capacity for documents
Attachments and backups may dominate storage.
ZimaCube 2 Standard.Use stronger CPU for more users/reports
Useful when the N150 class saturates.
ZimaCube 2 Pro.Can it run on ZimaOS?
Dolibarr is not currently confirmed as a public official one-click ZimaOS App Store page in the sources checked for this guide. It can still be deployed through Install Custom App.

Zima Blade Little yet Powerful
Maybe I am not digital natives but I live with PCs since 12 years old in 1984 when IBM PC clone come to my home. Many years have passed and many operating system I've tried. For me Zima blade and CasaOS was a quantum leap for home PC enthusiast and server lab machine to make me stay curious and relevant for this era.
Very good!!
I use ZimaCube Pro as 5th Proxmox cluster node. It runs several VMs and containers, including a VM with GPU passthrough to run a self-hosted LLM. A specific LXC container runs a Samba server for NAS capabilities using four of six RAID 6 SATA HDDs with ZFS.
Great innovation for mini server!
It is very useful and makes a powerful mini server for many purposes, including university and college students in engineering and electronics. Thank you so much for making this server.
