Falco1234 is Matteo, a technology enthusiast from Italy with a background in Computer Engineering. Starting with One Clear Goal: Own the Cloud

Two 4TB Drives and a RAID 1 Storage Plan
For storage, Falco1234 added two 4TB hard drives and configured them in RAID 1. The reasoning was intentionally simple: keep the same data on both drives so that the failure of one disk would not immediately remove the only copy available to the server.
The hardware stage did not become a project of its own. He connected the drives, followed the on-screen setup flow, and moved on to the applications he actually wanted to use. That simplicity was important because the objective was not to build the most complicated NAS possible — it was to build a private cloud he could maintain comfortably.
Why ZimaOS Made Sense for the First Build
Falco1234 chose ZimaOS because the interface felt intuitive from the beginning. Instead of forcing him to spend most of the setup time in a terminal, it exposed useful operating information such as network activity, device temperature, and memory utilization in a form that was easy to check during normal use.
That mattered because this was not meant to be a server that required constant attention. Once the disks were configured, he could install the applications he needed directly from the app store and refer to official application documentation whenever a question came up.

In his own testing, he observed that the board temperature did not appear to rise beyond roughly 25°C, even during higher-load periods.
