Official minimum requirements
Chatwoot publishes explicit production system requirements.
The current self-hosted guidance specifies 8 GB RAM minimum, 16 GB recommended, 4+ CPU cores recommended, 60 GB SSD, PostgreSQL 14+, and Redis 7+.
| Requirement | Official minimum | What this supports |
|---|---|---|
| 4+ cores | Production guidance. | |
| 8 GB | 16 GB recommended. | |
| 60 GB SSD | Allow additional space for DB, attachments, logs, and backups. | |
| PostgreSQL 14+ | Required. | |
| Redis 7.0+ | Required. | |
| Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or similar Linux | Production guidance. | |
| Not required | No GPU requirement. |

Move toward or beyond 16 GB as usage grows.
16 GB+ RAMAttachment storage
Expand persistent storage for media and backups.
ZimaCube storageStronger CPU
Use higher CPU throughput for larger support teams.

Custom install Chatwoot in ZimaOS
No specific public official ZimaOS App Store page was verified, so use Custom Install.
Custom install Chatwoot in the ZimaOS app ↗Meet Chatwoot's production baseline
Do not deploy below the official 8 GB RAM minimum for a production-style self-hosted instance.

Chatwoot is a multi-service production application; PostgreSQL, Redis, background workers, attachments, and conversation volume all matter.
Choose by workload
Use at least 8 GB RAM and preferably 16 GB for practical headroom.
CPU, database, and worker throughput become more important.
ZimaBoard 2 832 should not be presented as the preferred production target because Chatwoot publishes an 8 GB RAM minimum and recommends 16 GB.
| Zima hardware | Best for | Example workload | Core configuration | Recommended boundary | Next step |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ZimaBoard 2 1664 | Memory-heavier container stacks and moderate databases | Multi-service apps with larger RAM headroom |
|
CPU remains the 4-core N150, so compute-heavy workloads can still be CPU-limited | Get Now |
| ZimaCube 2 Pro | CPU-heavier, database-heavier, and higher-concurrency services | Larger production-style self-hosted workloads |
|
16 GB RAM can still be low for larger enterprise monitoring/search/control-plane deployments | Get Now |

Zima Blade Little yet Powerful
Maybe I am not digital natives but I live with PCs since 12 years old in 1984 when IBM PC clone come to my home. Many years have passed and many operating system I've tried. For me Zima blade and CasaOS was a quantum leap for home PC enthusiast and server lab machine to make me stay curious and relevant for this era.
Very good!!
I use ZimaCube Pro as 5th Proxmox cluster node. It runs several VMs and containers, including a VM with GPU passthrough to run a self-hosted LLM. A specific LXC container runs a Samba server for NAS capabilities using four of six RAID 6 SATA HDDs with ZFS.
Great innovation for mini server!
It is very useful and makes a powerful mini server for many purposes, including university and college students in engineering and electronics. Thank you so much for making this server.
