Official minimum requirements
Upstream documents Docker, supported databases, and scalability behavior but does not publish a numerical whole-host CPU, RAM, or disk minimum.
Do not invent a minimum. Bugsink explicitly targets modest single-machine deployments and states that many teams never need to scale beyond one machine.
| Requirement | Official minimum | What this supports |
|---|---|---|
| No numerical official minimum published | Event rate and database work drive CPU. | |
| No numerical official minimum published | Designed for modest single-machine deployments. | |
| bugsink/bugsink:latest | Published for amd64 and arm64. | |
| 8000 | Used in Docker examples. | |
| SQLite, MySQL, or PostgreSQL | SQLite default; MySQL/PostgreSQL available. | |
| Strongly recommended for production Docker | Set proxy headers and HTTPS awareness. | |
| Not required | No GPU workload. |
When to upgrade your hardware
High ingestion rate
Database growth
Multi-project usage
Plan hardware growth with confidence
SSD database
Keep SQLite/MySQL/PostgreSQL data on SSD.
SSDMore RAM
Useful as project count and DB cache needs grow.
ZimaBoard 2 1664Larger retention storage
Expand disk if long retention is required.
ZimaCube 2 StandardStronger CPU
Useful for heavier ingestion and database workloads.
ZimaCube 2 ProCan it run on ZimaOS?
Custom install Bugsink in ZimaOS
No specific public official ZimaOS App Store page was verified, so the SOP requires Custom Install.
Custom install Bugsink in the ZimaOS app ↗Use the official Bugsink image
The upstream Docker guide documents bugsink/bugsink:latest and supported database options.
Open Bugsink Docker docs ↗Choose database deliberately
SQLite is simple; MySQL/PostgreSQL are supported for persistent/containerized deployments.
Open Bugsink database settings ↗Zima hardware for Bugsink
Bugsink is intentionally simple and usually light; ingestion rate, retention, and database storage are the real sizing variables.
Choose by workload
A ZimaBoard is sufficient with persistent SSD-backed data.
Scale database storage and CPU/RAM based on observed load.
Zima recommendations are workload mappings, not upstream-certified hardware tiers.
| Zima hardware | Best for | Example workload | Core configuration | Recommended boundary | Next step |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ZimaBoard 2 832 | Light self-hosted services and small single-node apps | Small containerized workloads |
|
8 GB RAM can limit larger databases, search stacks, and enterprise apps | Get Now |
| ZimaBoard 2 1664 | Memory-heavier container stacks and moderate databases | Multi-service apps with larger RAM headroom |
|
CPU remains the 4-core N150, so compute-heavy workloads can still be CPU-limited | Get Now |
| ZimaCube 2 Pro | CPU-heavier, database-heavier, and higher-concurrency services | Larger production-style self-hosted workloads |
|
16 GB RAM can still be low for larger enterprise monitoring/search/control-plane deployments | Get Now |

Zima Blade Little yet Powerful
Maybe I am not digital natives but I live with PCs since 12 years old in 1984 when IBM PC clone come to my home. Many years have passed and many operating system I've tried. For me Zima blade and CasaOS was a quantum leap for home PC enthusiast and server lab machine to make me stay curious and relevant for this era.
Very good!!
I use ZimaCube Pro as 5th Proxmox cluster node. It runs several VMs and containers, including a VM with GPU passthrough to run a self-hosted LLM. A specific LXC container runs a Samba server for NAS capabilities using four of six RAID 6 SATA HDDs with ZFS.
Great innovation for mini server!
It is very useful and makes a powerful mini server for many purposes, including university and college students in engineering and electronics. Thank you so much for making this server.
