Official minimum requirements
Kanban Tool publishes explicit On-Site minimum system requirements.
The official baseline is a modern 64-bit machine capable of virtualization, at least 4 GB RAM, and at least 10 GB free disk space.
| Requirement | Official minimum | What this supports |
|---|---|---|
| 4 GB | On-Site minimum. | |
| 10 GB free | On-Site minimum. | |
| Modern 64-bit machine with virtualization support | No numerical core floor. | |
| Virtual machine image | VirtualBox/VMware-class platforms supported. | |
| Not required for normal self-hosted use | Data remains on company server. | |
| Modern web browser | No special client hardware. | |
| Not required | No GPU workload. |

Plan hardware growth with confidence
More VM RAM
Allocate more than 4 GB as usage grows.
Additional host RAMSSD VM storage
Use SSD/NVMe for the VM disk.
SSD/NVMeBackup capacity
Keep VM/application backups on separate storage.
Backup targetStronger host
Use higher CPU/RAM hardware for more users or other VMs.
ZimaCube 2 ProCan it run on ZimaOS?
Custom install Kanban Tool On-Site via a VM
No specific public official ZimaOS per-app page was verified, and the vendor distributes On-Site primarily as a VM.
Custom install Kanban Tool in the ZimaOS app ↗Preserve the virtualization model
Allocate at least the official 4 GB RAM and 10 GB disk inside the deployment.
Open Kanban Tool On-Site requirements ↗Keep VM backups outside the live system
Treat the On-Site VM like an application appliance with independent backups.
Open Kanban Tool On-Site documentation ↗Zima hardware for Kanban Tool
Kanban Tool On-Site is straightforward to size because the vendor publishes a small VM baseline.
Choose by workload
ZimaBoard 2 832 can host a 4 GB-class VM if the host is otherwise lightly loaded.
Use more host RAM/CPU than the guest minimum.
Zima host sizing must leave enough RAM and disk for the ZimaOS host/hypervisor beyond the guest's 4 GB/10 GB minimum.
| Zima hardware | Best for | Example workload | Core configuration | Recommended boundary | Next step |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ZimaBoard 2 832 | Light self-hosted services and small databases | Single-app or small multi-app deployments |
|
8 GB RAM can limit larger Java/database/collaboration stacks | Get Now |
| ZimaBoard 2 1664 | Memory-heavier services and larger small-team apps | Moderate multi-container and database workloads |
|
CPU remains the 4-core N150, so heavier Java/indexing workloads can still be CPU-limited | Get Now |
| ZimaCube 2 Pro | CPU-heavy, database-heavy, and higher-concurrency services | Jira, larger helpdesk/collaboration stacks, and heavier indexing |
|
16 GB RAM can still be low for large enterprise Jira deployments | Get Now |

Zima Blade Little yet Powerful
Maybe I am not digital natives but I live with PCs since 12 years old in 1984 when IBM PC clone come to my home. Many years have passed and many operating system I've tried. For me Zima blade and CasaOS was a quantum leap for home PC enthusiast and server lab machine to make me stay curious and relevant for this era.
Very good!!
I use ZimaCube Pro as 5th Proxmox cluster node. It runs several VMs and containers, including a VM with GPU passthrough to run a self-hosted LLM. A specific LXC container runs a Samba server for NAS capabilities using four of six RAID 6 SATA HDDs with ZFS.
Great innovation for mini server!
It is very useful and makes a powerful mini server for many purposes, including university and college students in engineering and electronics. Thank you so much for making this server.
