The final 1.7.0 release notes are much cleaner than the beta discussion. They formally list the App Store redesign, installed-app update/status management, discovery/categories, native YAML support, backup-page fixes, improved logs/terminal behavior, and OneDrive work/school sign-in support.
That means speculative beta observations—such as whether “Performance” changed CPU scheduling or whether one tester's idle CPU numbers represented a regression—should not be promoted into stable-release specifications.

IceWhale's August 24 announcement says 1.7.1 focused on security, stability, and community-reported problems after 1.7. For a production NAS, that makes 1.7.1 a more appropriate comparison baseline than beta1 or even the first 1.7.0 build.

A later participant added that old, unmounted drives still appeared and created repeated entries. The thread does not include an IceWhale diagnosis or fix for that specific September report, so it should remain an unresolved observation rather than a confirmed 1.7.1 regression.
