Official minimum requirements
Jitbit publishes explicit minimum and larger-deployment hardware guidance.
The current system requirements list 2 CPU cores, 3 GB RAM, and 10 GB free disk minimum. For 100+ agents: 4+ cores, 8 GB+ RAM, and SSD with 50 GB+ free. The installation manual recommends 16 GB when web app and database share one server.
| Requirement | Official minimum | What this supports |
|---|---|---|
| 2 cores | 4+ cores recommended for 100+ agents. | |
| 3 GB | 8 GB+ for 100+ agents; 16 GB recommended all-in-one in installation manual. | |
| 10 GB free | SSD with 50 GB+ for 100+ agents. | |
| .NET 10 | ASP.NET Core app. | |
| Microsoft SQL Server 2017+ | Express suitable for smaller teams. | |
| Windows, Linux, Docker | Docker officially supported. | |
| Not required | No GPU workload. |
When to upgrade your hardware

Plan hardware growth with confidence
SSD SQL storage
Keep SQL Server database on SSD/NVMe.
SSD/NVMeMore RAM
Use 16 GB-class memory for all-in-one production headroom.
ZimaBoard 2 1664Attachment capacity
Expand storage for ticket attachments and backups.
ZimaCube storageStronger CPU
Useful for larger agent teams and database/search load.

Custom install Jitbit Helpdesk in ZimaOS
No specific public official ZimaOS per-app page was verified, so use Custom Install.
Custom install Jitbit Helpdesk in the ZimaOS app ↗Use Jitbit's official Docker/Linux support
Docker is supported, but Microsoft SQL Server remains required.
Open Jitbit system requirements ↗Separate the database when scaling
Jitbit recommends a separate SQL Server for scalability in larger deployments.
Open Jitbit on-prem installation manual ↗Zima hardware for Jitbit Helpdesk
Jitbit has real published minima, but a practical all-in-one production host should leave much more memory for SQL Server and .NET than the 3 GB floor.
Choose by workload
Use 16 GB-class memory to comfortably host the .NET app and SQL Server together.
Move database/search workload to stronger CPU and potentially separate SQL Server.
Zima recommendations distinguish hard minimums from Jitbit's more realistic 8–16 GB production guidance.
| Zima hardware | Best for | Example workload | Core configuration | Recommended boundary | Next step |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ZimaBoard 2 1664 | Memory-heavier services and larger small-team apps | Moderate multi-container and database workloads |
|
CPU remains the 4-core N150, so heavier Java/indexing workloads can still be CPU-limited | Get Now |
| ZimaCube 2 Pro | CPU-heavy, database-heavy, and higher-concurrency services | Jira, larger helpdesk/collaboration stacks, and heavier indexing |
|
16 GB RAM can still be low for large enterprise Jira deployments | Get Now |

Zima Blade Little yet Powerful
Maybe I am not digital natives but I live with PCs since 12 years old in 1984 when IBM PC clone come to my home. Many years have passed and many operating system I've tried. For me Zima blade and CasaOS was a quantum leap for home PC enthusiast and server lab machine to make me stay curious and relevant for this era.
Very good!!
I use ZimaCube Pro as 5th Proxmox cluster node. It runs several VMs and containers, including a VM with GPU passthrough to run a self-hosted LLM. A specific LXC container runs a Samba server for NAS capabilities using four of six RAID 6 SATA HDDs with ZFS.
Great innovation for mini server!
It is very useful and makes a powerful mini server for many purposes, including university and college students in engineering and electronics. Thank you so much for making this server.
